"Ercille Christmas is a 'Great American' who arrived in America over twenty years ago from the island of St. Kitts. When you read this book, you will know the dimension of her love and great concern for this 'beloved' USA. She began chronicling events, as they unfolded immediately after the 9/11 attacks, and almost to the five-year anniversary of that cowardly attack on the US and its citizens. She suffered with the rest of America, through those first hours, days and months. She was encouraged and gratified when a united America emerged from the embers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. She became a meticulous observer of the world around her, with most of the focus on the 'War on Terror.'

Constitution Corner - Inaugurated 4/2/2010
As I sat in the Tax Preparer's office as she churned the numbers for my tax return, I looked in my briefcase for reading material and pulled out copies of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, given to me by Hillsdale College, and the Declaration of Independence from Colonial Williamsburg. The thought struck me that since the Constitution appears to be on the way to becoming optional in governing this land, which came into being upon the principles of both of these documents, that I should devote some space on my Website to both, before that heritage is lost or confiscated.
I envision this corner solely as a historical homage to these brilliantly constructed documents. Here goes - verbatim.
In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.
A DECLARATION by the REPRESENTATIVES of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, In GENERAL CONGRESS assembled.
WHEN in the course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.
WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness - That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
