Ercille's  World

"Literacy and history in a portable package"
Your Store of knowledge including: "Thoughts Of A Proud American"

I am a God/family/friends/country type of gal. For most of my adult working life, I have been in management in the insurance industry. I have also spent time teaching English and Spanish to junior high school students in St. Kitts. I love music and consider myself a frustrated singer.

I am now a first time author, having recently published "Thoughts Of A Proud American." What gives me credibility as an author? How far back should I go? As early as elementary school, I was complimented for my ability to write well. I remember being paraded out when my mother and stepfather had guests over, so that I could show my prowess in spelling long and complicated words. I was eight years old going on 24! Had my entrepreneurial spirit kicked in back then, I would have demanded payment!

Ah, the good old days when I could afford to attend the opera!

Coming soon (I hope)!

Guest artist/writer/contributor Corner

I have some very talented friends whose work I will feature from time to time (if they will let me!).

UPDATE! UPDATE!

When I last wrote about Shelby, she had written a letter, posted below, to Santa. She was slightly concerned that he would not be able to find her. Santa being Santa, he found her!

Santa enlisted a lot of helpers, including the Los Angeles Fire Dept. From reports I heard, 4 firemen showed up. I missed them, and I am especially disappointed as I heard that they were cute! (No, I will not start a small fire so they could return)! These Santa's "helpers" brought Shelby a cute bike (pink), a doll house, which I am moving into, and about four other gifts. I was shocked. I expected one or two token gifts. These were gifts! Shelby's "haul" was over 20 gifts from Santa and his helpers.

Now, I have asked Shelby to put in a word with Santa for me for next year. I thought that with my last name being Christmas, that I had the inside track to Santa. Not this year. He concentrated on Shelby. I can live with that, but next year, he had better take care of me, or I will throw a grown up tantrum!

Seriously, I am so happy that Shelby was well taken care of, and I hope that all the other kids out there, in addition to toys, received love and caring.

Thank you Santa, for making the Christmas of one little 8-year old, a very merry, merry one!

Coming soon.....Shelby's Story "The Little Puppy!"

********************************

At last! I have a guest artist. Her name is Shelby Sinsay. She is 8 years old going on 30! Shelby is a smart, intelligent wise soul. I hired her as my PR Rep. at the "princessly" sum of $1 per week, after she came up with the idea that, instead of naming William Shakespeare as my favorite author, I should name myself. Why did not I think of that? A college degree, and it took the innate marketing genius of an 8-year old to come up with a terrific idea! Sorry WS. I have to do with the wisdom of youth!

So enjoy the writings/musings of Shelby, beginning with her letter to Santa. For those of you who do not know, Shelby and her parents Joy and JoJo are temporarily staying with me. They helped to bring Christmas back to Ms. Christmas after she was about to defer Christmas for this year. I copied her letter as sent to me and made it in red font. I removed the complete address because I know that Santa can find Shelby without specific directions. Other non-Santa types, we do not need to give them any help.

In this day and age, I have to stipulate that this is not a solicitation. Although with that list, Santa may want to invest in an extra sled! I simply want to share with you the first of my ongoing postings of Shelby's work. I promised guest artists and I am going to deliver. Catch them while they are young and creative. I may yet build my "publishing empire!"

Seriously, Shelby is showing promise as a writer, as you will see, when I publish "The Little Puppy."
